Exness at FMAS 2026: Conversations, recognition, and Africa’s evolving trading landscape
What is the future of trading in Africa?
That question brought together brokers, traders, fintech innovators, and industry leaders at the Finance Magnates Africa Summit (FMAS) 2026 in Cape Town, where Exness participated as the Elite Sponsor.
Over two days, the event covered key trends shaping trading across the continent, from evolving trader expectations to trust, resilience, and sustainable growth.
Reshaping industry accountability
Traders in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) have access to more information than ever before, making them more selective when choosing a broker.
To support the growth of the African trading community, we’ve continued to build our presence in the region with a focus on local accountability.
This includes opening a regional operations hub in Cape Town and holding licenses under both the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) in South Africa and the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) in Kenya.
Our participation as Elite Sponsor reflects what we have been building here, not just a product, but a long-term presence,” Saheed Akinbiyi, Exness Country Manager in South Africa, commented.
Traders and partners in this region deserve a broker that is accountable to them locally, delivers consistently under pressure, and is here for the next decade, not just the next campaign.
Emphasis on relationships and trust
With conversations centering on trust, performance, and relationships, our team contributed to discussions on the growing importance of transparency and lasting value.
Nima Siar, Head of Partnership and Business Development Initiative at Exness, delivered a keynote titled, “In this together? What good trading communities look like.”
In the session, he examined what makes trading communities useful to traders and brokers alike, from distinguishing valuable data from noise to reinforcing safety and security in trading environments.
Saheed also joined the panel discussion, “Track record? IBs & brokers between automation and trust,” where panelists shared views on how Introducing Brokers (IBs) are tracked and incentivized, and the implications for traders.
Together, these sessions pointed to a clear shift in expectations: traders are looking beyond access and promotions, and placing more value on reliability, transparency, and relationships that hold up over time.
Evolving market expectations
With global markets facing simultaneous macro pressures and high volatility, a consistent trading experience is no longer optional.
It has become the baseline expectation, a trend reflected in the two industry honors we received during the event: Most Reliable Broker and Best Multi-Asset Broker. This recognition reflects our commitment to consistency and performance.
As Saheed noted:
Most Reliable Broker is not an award you win by showing up at an event. You win it by delivering consistently reliable conditions every time the market puts your infrastructure under pressure. That is what we’ve been building in Africa, and that’s what traders and partners in this region are increasingly holding brokers accountable for. We’re proud of the recognition, and more committed than ever to earning it again.
A market in transition
The discussions throughout FMAS 2026 highlighted how trading across Sub-Saharan Africa continues to mature.
Experienced traders are moving beyond short-term promotions and headline rates. Instead, they’re looking for clear evidence of sustained performance, operational consistency, and long-term partnerships.
